The weekly La Française (1906-1940): the newspaper of reformist feminism

As an activist newspaper, La Française contributed to the development of the reformist feminist movement which shares its main characteristics : wariness, moderation and neutrality. Nevertheless, it encountered difficulties in accommodating these characteristics with the goals of information, education and broad dissemination. It tried to find an identity between a feminist and a feminine newspaper.
