This article presents the main characteristics of press campaigns against ‘Spanish atrocities’ involving the French anarchist communist movement, through the prism of the French journalist and editor Jean Grave. Three key points are highlighted : the multifaceted role of print as the key vector of mobilisation, the – occasionally problematic – organisation of progressive coalitions and the amplification of agitation through transnational networks.
