Télévision, réception et identité dans une ville africaine

Le Temps des médias n°3, automne 2004, p. 49-59.

Addressing the issue of identity construction, this article shows that global flows of information provide new ressources for actors in specific settings. The field analysed here is that of Anglicanism in Africa. Building on theoretical elements in the analyses of Arjun Appadurai and Michael Schudson, the discussion is focused on empirical data concerning the relationship between media, religion and culture in a small religious community in Zimbabwe.
