Les émissions politiques : réduction ou redéfinition de l’espace de communication télévisuelle ?

Le Temps des médias n°7, hiver 2006-07, p.191-203

With the run-up to the French presidential election in 2007, increasing time-slots are given to political programmes in mainstream TV channels. Combining elements of infotainment, such programmes help television become a major venue for politicians. However, when one reviews the formats of such political talk programmes have change little over the past half-century : ingredients comprise sequences of interviews, debates and reports. What is new is the appreance and spread of political infotainment programmes. These changes correspond to a policy of reducing and redefining programmes devoted to politics, and lead to a fragmentation of serious discussion of politics on television. DrapeauFrancais
