Réseau associatif et Syndical (R@S) was created in the wake of the broad social movement of November-December 1995. Until 2009, R@S was a discreet but important actor in the structuring and development of a specific sub-field of French social movements dedicated to acculturation and appropriation of new technologies combining telecommunications and computers, by social movements. The aim of this article is to examine the period of creation of R@S by paying a particular attention to some socio-political dimensions of the project.
