As women’s issues appear in the public debate and as television becomes a mass media, several TV serials produced by the ORTF question the « feminine condition ». This question is treated through three figures, to which correspond a certain type of narrative : the young woman (the bildungsroman and the didactic narrative), the wife (the marital chronicle), and the mother (the melodrama). This paper analyses how these TV fictions reconfigure the norms of the feminine and to which extent they are an expression of popular feminism.
