French feminist associations make a contrasted use of proceedings provided by law and ethics against sexist messages spread by media. Weakly mobilized before courts and the broadcasting regulatory authority, they are more active before the Advertising Ethics Jury. This selective and targeted use of existing proceedings, by sensitizing to sexism, takes part in the legitimation of feminist demands.
