Le Temps des médias n° 24, Printemps-Été 2015, p. 165-179.

French television broadcasted regular culinary programs from 1954. Cooking shows were at first broadcasts of learning, democratization of culinary « art»; they then adapted themselves to the evolutions of contemporary world : to the taste for the regional heritage to which cooking belongs, in that of the modern women worried about light and fast cooking. Since the 2000s they are an opportunity of narratives about cooking and territories but also the cooking invaded broadcasts of game and reality tv, entertainment in which it serves as a foil to starred chefs as to young chefs in search of culinary and media gratitude. The cooking is the object from now on of a real craze in French society. These broadcasts evolved according to the transformations of the world of communication; they have a considerable success with the audience.
